Dr. Sabyasachi Saha’s Journey in AI and Innovation

Sabyasachi Saha

In this special edition of The Executive Outlook, we meet Dr. Sabyasachi Saha, a kind and thoughtful leader who built something amazing. He is the CEO and Founder of Techno Exponent, a company that makes smart technology to help people and businesses.

With a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and more than 14 years of experience, he has worked with exciting tools like AI, machine learning, blockchain, and cloud computing. But more than that, he loves solving real problems, especially in healthcare and business. His team helps people all over the world use technology in a simple, smart, and useful way.
Back in 2011, when Dr. Sabyasachi started his journey, he saw something important. Big companies had access to great technology, but smaller businesses and new startups didn’t. Either it was too expensive, or they didn’t know how to use it. That didn’t seem fair. He wanted to change that. So, he started Techno Exponent to help everyone, from small startups to big enterprises, use technology to grow.
His company wasn’t just about fancy apps or shiny designs. It was about building tools that work—tools that help. Whether someone runs a hospital, a school, a real estate company, or even a small shop, Techno Exponent builds simple, strong software to make their work easier.
Over the years, his team has done some really cool things. They helped Boston Children’s Hospital improve surgeries. They created apps for mental health so people can get support anytime they need it. They made tools for real estate agents that help with booking and scheduling. They even worked on projects that help people talk to doctors online through video calls. Dr. Sabyasachi’s company also helped build software for taxis and insurance companies. Every project they do solves a real problem and makes life easier for someone.

One of the things he worked on early was blockchain, a special kind of technology that keeps things very safe and honest. In 2015, he helped build a platform for artists to show and sell their work using blockchain. Today, his team is building something even cooler: a way for normal people to invest in big, expensive properties like houses in Mumbai or California. You might not have enough money to buy a whole house, but with this idea, you can own a small part of one. As the value grows, you can even sell your share. That’s how powerful blockchain can be.
Dr. Sabyasachi believes that blockchain is very useful in healthcare and finance too. But he also knows it can be expensive to use. That’s why cities like Dubai, which support new businesses, are becoming leaders in this field. He also talks a lot about artificial intelligence (AI). But not in a scary or complicated way. He says AI is something every business can use. Think about sending emails or replying to customers—that takes a lot of time, right? Well, AI can do those things for you. AI can read what a customer is feeling in an email, plan a reply, and even send it. If someone says, “Call me after one month,” AI will remember and do that too. He gives an example: if you visit a restaurant often, AI can remember your favorite dish and show it to you first. That way, your experience feels more special. AI can help in sales, customer service, marketing, and so much more. But he also warns—don’t jump into AI just because it’s popular. First, understand your problem, and then find out how AI can solve it. One of the best tips he shares is simple: look at what your team does again and again every day. If it’s the same thing, automate it. Let AI handle it. That way, your team can focus on big ideas and creativity. He believes teams get better when machines handle the boring stuff. For people who want to start a business, he gives some great advice. First, your product or service must solve a real problem. Or, it must be something so useful that people didn’t know they needed it until they saw it. Think about Uber or Tesla—no one asked for them, but now they’re part of everyday life. These businesses didn’t just find demand—they created it. He also says, “Keep your product simple.” If it’s hard to understand, people will walk away. He remembers helping a business that had a confusing website. Customers didn’t know what to do. Once they made it simple and clear, more people started using it. That’s how powerful simplicity is. Dr. Sabyasachi lives by one golden rule: “If everything is going smooth, it means something is about to change—so improve before the pressure hits.” Even when things look good, he keeps working to make them better. That’s how he leads. He watches what top leaders do and always looks for ways to improve his team, products, and services. His journey wasn’t always easy. In 2011, when he started Techno Exponent, he had just three people on the team. At that time, not many people believed in startups. It was hard to find smart people who would join a small company. But he didn’t give up. He stayed passionate. He kept learning and building. Slowly, more people joined, and the company grew strong. Even today, one of the big challenges is finishing work on time without losing quality. His team solves this with good planning, using AI, and clear communication. They always ask, What does the client expect, and how can we deliver it better?

Dr. Sabyasachi is proud that many of his clients have stayed with him for years—some even more than a decade. They come back for new projects, refer friends, and give long-term business. That’s the real win for him. Happy clients are the best marketing. He also talks about something many people think about: should you hire a freelancer or go with a company? He explains that freelancers can be great, but they may become busy or leave a project halfway. A company like Techno Exponent has a full team. If one person is busy, someone else can step in. The work never stops. In every part of his story, one message shines through—solve real problems, be kind, stay curious, and keep growing. Dr. Sabyasachi Saha shows us that with heart, hard work, and a smart mind, anyone can turn a small idea into a global company.
